Dr. Penelope Yip, DDS
Dr. Penelope Yip, DDS has provided distinguished dental care to the Berkeley community for over three decades. Renowned for her gentle touch and thoughtful, personalized approach, Dr. Yip offers comprehensive preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry with an emphasis on whole-person’s wellness and long-term oral health.
A San Francisco native and UCSF-trained dentist, Dr. Yip served for 16 years as an Assistant and Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, where she helped educate and mentor future generations of dentists. She remains deeply committed to continuing education and the integration of modern, evidence-based techniques into her practice.
Her professional distinctions include recognition as a Top Dentist in Berkeley, Consumers’ Checkbook Bay Area Top Dentists, Fellowship in the American College of Dentists, and the City of Berkeley Small Business Excellence Award—honors that reflect both clinical excellence and community leadership.
Outside the practice, Dr. Yip enjoys preparing health-conscious cuisine, creating low-sugar low-carb desserts and treats, traveling, reading, and spending meaningful time with family and friends.

Dr James Lin, DDS, MPH
Dr James Lin, DDS, MPH has been practicing for several years throughout Wisconsin, Sonoma County, and the Bay Area. He graduated from University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Dentistry and obtained the Master in Public Health with an emphasis in Sociocultural Diversity & Health from the University of California, Irvine. Applying his personal goal to bring gentle and exceptional dentistry to all, Dr Lin served multiple years providing dental care and education to the many underprivileged communities of Green Bay, WI. Returning to his home state in California, he is excited to continue his dental passion here in Berkeley, CA.
Applying his public health education into managing his patient’s care, Dr Lin embraces the comprehensive approach that combines CAMBRA analysis, full-arch occlusion, and oral hygiene habits in preparing a customized treatment plan for each patient. His treatment philosophy prioritizes saving natural teeth structures and providing dental care aligning with the long-term health and welfare of his patients. Embracing the latest technology trends, Dr Lin strives to bring transparency and education to his patients by incorporating x-rays, intraoral photography, and full-mouth digital scan into his examinations. Dr James Lin is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), Berkeley Dental Society, and American Clear Aligner Association (ACAA).
Dr Lin met his wife, Dr Anne Marie Jeng, in dental school. Most recently, the pair is overjoyed in welcoming their newborn son. Aside from dentistry, Dr Lin enjoy exploring the world with his wife. Their latest trip brought them to New Zealand where they were drawn to the natural beauty of Milford Sound and the many unique and exotic animals, including the kiwi and kea. Dr Lin is also an avid visitor at many of the US National Parks with a lifetime goal of visiting all the parks in the country. His favorite hobbies include deep sea fishing, basketball, cooking, and hiking.
